User Account and Security

Manage your Dashboard login methods, password, two-factor authentication, and user account.

Your Unipile user account identifies you across the organizations you belong to. Its login settings are separate from the credentials of your connected LinkedIn, email, or other provider accounts.

Sign in to the Dashboard

Open the Dashboard V2. You can register or sign in with an email and password, Google, or GitHub. Passwords must contain at least 12 characters.

If someone invited you to an organization, open their invitation and sign in with the invited email address. See Join an organization.

Open User settings

Open the user menu at the bottom of the Dashboard sidebar and select User settings.

You can view your name and email address and copy your Unipile user ID. Name and email are displayed as read-only fields.

Manage your password

Change an existing password

  1. Open User settings → Change password.
  2. Enter your current password.
  3. Enter and confirm a new password of at least 12 characters.
  4. Click Update password.

Add a password after social signup

If you registered using Google or GitHub and have no password, Set password appears instead. Enter and confirm a password, then click Set password. You can then sign in with email and password as well as your connected social login methods.

Reset a forgotten password

Select the password-reset link on the login page or in User settings. Enter your account email and follow the link sent to that address to choose and confirm a new password.

A password reset does not remove two-factor authentication.

Manage social login

In User settings → Social login, click Connect beside Google or GitHub and complete that provider's authorization flow. The connected identity is then displayed in the list.

To remove a login method, click Disconnect beside it. If you have no password, you cannot disconnect your only remaining social identity. Set a password or connect another social identity first.

These identities are used to sign in to Unipile. Disconnecting a social login is separate from removing a provider account used through the API.

Enable two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a code from an authenticator app to your Unipile sign-in process.

  1. Open User settings → Two-factor authentication.
  2. Turn on the switch labeled Configure in the Authenticator app section.
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, 1Password, or Authy.
  4. If you cannot scan it, open Unable to scan? and enter the displayed secret key in your authenticator app.
  5. Enter the six-digit code generated by the app and submit it to complete enrollment.
  6. Check that the setting shows Enabled.

Keep the authenticator available for future sign-ins. Treat the enrollment secret like a password and do not share it in screenshots or support conversations.

Sign in with 2FA

When Unipile requests two-factor verification, enter the current six-digit code from your authenticator app. Use a fresh code if the previous one has expired.

If an organization requires 2FA and you have not configured it, Unipile asks you to complete enrollment before accessing that organization. See Enforce two-factor authentication.

Disable 2FA

Open User settings → Two-factor authentication, switch off the enabled setting, and confirm Disable.

You cannot disable 2FA while you belong to an organization that enforces it. An Owner must remove that requirement, or you must leave the organization before disabling your personal 2FA.

If you lose access to your authenticator and cannot sign in, contact Unipile support. Resetting your password does not bypass 2FA.

Theme and sign out

Open the user menu and choose Theme → Light, Dark, or System. Choose Log out from the same menu to end your session.

Delete your user account

Deleting your user account permanently removes your personal data and memberships. Before deleting it, check every organization you own:

  • If another Owner exists, the organization can remain under that Owner's control.
  • If you are the last Owner and other members remain, have another member made Owner first, or remove the other members.
  • If you are the last Owner and the organization has a current subscription, transfer ownership or cancel the subscription and wait until its current period has ended.
  • An organization where you are the only member and no current subscription remains is deleted with its applications and connected accounts.

To proceed, open User settings → Danger zone → Delete account, review the confirmation, and click Delete my account. This action cannot be undone.

Removing your Unipile user account is different from removing a connected provider account.
